• You Just Had a Set of Blueprints Drawn Up. But How Much Will the Project Really Cost?

Architects do not always provide a sure fire way of determining cost of a project unless they know how to set up the 'bill of materials' section of their Auto CAD software. This generally requires understanding the LISP language and most people are inexperienced to handle this. Unfortunately, finishing materials such as 'trim,' can be very costly. If your roof is going to have 300 feet of trim with multiple layers, and the least expensive trim is $3.00 per foot, then you could be seeing a bill for at least $3,600.00. In other words, our take off can easily be used to find acceptable areas to curb costs.

Another example is our take offs include a window and door count. It's possible to save money by slightly reducing the number of windows, saving both money in materials and, possibly labor.

Keeping the amount of 'trim' down can also significantly save costs. Careful planing and scheduling of trim can keep expenses from ballooning. Building 'UP' is less expensive than building 'OUT.'

By knowing the amount of materials required for your project, you've take the first and most complex step to knowing better the true cost of the project. By knowing such things as 'total square footage' it will be easier to obtain labor costs as many subcontractors charge by the square foot.

Subcontractors tend to be very 'cautious' about ordering materials. Unfortunately, 
this causes them to 'over order' which costs you unessecary money. Such as: 
Sheetrock, trim, roofing materials, concrete;  are just a few of the areas you can
be overcharged. If you know how much the material costs by giving our take off 
to your local lumber or building supply house, you are no longer subseptable to
being overcharged, unlike this information being in the hands of others with a
'profit' motive or agenda.

• Cost Control-Developing Competing Bids

Armed with one of our take offs, you can have us send the information to local lumber yards (up to 3) in your area for bidding on your project. This way, you can save even more money by finding out who will give you the bestpossible pricing on the materials.
